Hey You 💕,
Let me tell you something I recently admitted to myself that wasn’t cute or a “vibe” or easy to say:
I want to be successful because I want to be seen.
That was my no-filter answer to a journal prompt about my purpose and it hit me like a gahdamn gut punch.
At first, I tried to dress it up:
“I want to help others.”
“I want to walk in my purpose.”
“I want to make money doing what I love.”
And all of that is real. But underneath it? There’s a part of me that still craves the spotlight. Not because I’m arrogant. Not because I think I’m better than anyone. But because for so long, being admired felt like the only way to feel enough.
Growing up, I was always the girl who “had it all.” The girl people watched, envied, talked about. I was seen. Celebrated. Put on a pedestal. Until I wasn’t.
An unexpected pregnancy, life not going how I thought it would post-college and just like that, the applause faded. The invites slowed down. I became the girl who “used to…”
And in that silence, I didn’t just feel forgotten…I felt less than.
